Hunter Resort

The Hunter Resort is set on its own vineyard, and is home to the largest winery in the Hunter Valley. The Hunter Resort not only offers 4 star accommodation, but also provides an extensive range of activities and facilities including the Hunter Valley Wine School, Cooking School, the Bluetongue Boutique Brewery and the superb San Martino Restaurant. Located away from busy roads, the Hunter Resort is nestled within 35 year old vineyards.

This unique Hunter Valley accommodation offers a plethora of activities, including tennis, horse riding, a large outdoor pool and heated spa, mountain biking or take a walk on the 3 kilometre jogging track. Guided tours of the vineyard followed by a tutorial and tasting are conducted daily at 9am. Learn how wine is actually made, follow the process from the grapevine to the bottle. Wine Tasting Cellars are open everyday.

The onsite Hunter Valley Wine School promises an education of wine, and participants of the two hour certificate course, will enjoy learning the many facets of vineyards, wine making and wine tasting. The Hunter Valley Cooking School was established to give guest and understanding of Australian cooking.

Accommodation

The Hunter Resort has 35 rooms, all quiet and spacious featuring exposed timber cathedral ceilings and solid country style timber furniture. All accommodation overlooks the surrounding countryside, vineyards and the Brokenback Ranges.

Hunter Room: Has views of the surrounding Hunter wine country. These rooms feature timber cathedral ceilings, full size bath and private balcony. Bedding is 1 Queen Bed + Double Sofa OR 1 Queen Bed + 2 Single Beds. Maximum room capacity for Adults & Children is 4.

Vineyard View Room: Has a full size bath tub, timber cathedral ceilings and private balcony nestled within the resort's own 35 year old vineyards, with views to the Brokenback Ranges. Bedding is 1 King Bed OR 2 Single Beds. Maximum room capacity for Adults & Children is 2.

Spa Room: Perfect for couples, located in their own cottages this room type offers more space and privacy. The spa room has its own kitchenette with sink and microwave, a double spa bathtub and separate shower. The private balcony offers views overlooking the resort's own vineyards, surrounding countryside and the Brokenback Ranges. Bedding is 1 King Bed OR 2 Single Beds. Maximum room capacity for Adults & Children is 2.

2 Bedroom Cottage: Offers more space and privacy for two couples or a family group. The large private balcony has views over the surrounding vineyards and countryside. The cottage has its own kitchenette with sink and microwave, dining room and living room with seating for six people and, radio/CD/cassette player. Both bedrooms have their own ensuite. Bedding is 1 Queen Bed + 1 King Bed OR 1 Queen + 2 Singles. Maximum room capacity for Adults & Children is 6.

Dining

San Martino Restaurant: Is open for dinner 7 days. The restaurant features a wine bar offering an extensive range of wines available by the glass, bottle or magnum. Wines are from all over the world and include some rare vintage wines from local private cellars.

The Bluetongue Boutique Brewery: Makes four boutique beers. All that separates you from the brewery is a glass wall behind the contemporary bar where guests enjoy the relaxed atmosphere including a pool table. There is a full flavoured Premium Lager, a Hunter Bitter, the Summer Wheat, and a truly unique alcoholic Ginger Beer. All Beers are available on tap at the brewery, with bottled product from the Cellar Door. Value meal options are also available from the brewery including homemade pies, pizza, salads and antipasto. Open 7 days for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
